Janet grew up in isolated areas on northern Vancouver Island, where she gained a love and appreciation for the natural world and the animals inhabiting it. After receiving a Bachelor of Science from the University of Victoria, she attended the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, graduating in 1980. After working for three years in a mixed animal practice, Janet chose to care exclusively for dogs and cats, through small animal practices, locums, and the Clinic for Cats (Nanaimo) that she established along the way. Her subsequent training in acupuncture and Eastern medicine has given her a broad perspective on health and well being. Janet has lived in Victoria for over twenty years and has been privileged to continue caring for companion animals during that time. Her long and rewarding career has culminated in the opportunity to assist beloved cat and dog family members with a peaceful and dignified passing at home.
